Formed in Sheffield in 1983, IN THE NURSERY, has at its nucleus the
twin brothers KLive ann Nigel Humberstone, who were joined in 1987 by
military drummer Q and vocalist Dee. Among their recordings are three
L.P.s and four 12" E.P.s, most of which were recorded for their previous
label, Sweatbox. In addition to these, 'Counterpoint', a compilation of
remixes, rarities and songs from the (now deleted) 12"s has just been
released on L.P. and C.D. by Sweatbox.

"L'Esprit" is certainly their most refined and classical work to date;
their composition has reached a new level of sophistication, and their
growing mastery of orchestral tone and colour gives "L'Esprit" moments
of tender beauty in contrast to the aggression of the timpani and
military percussion, perhaps reminescent of the lokes of Ennio Morricone
od Dead Can Dance.

Sice they started touring the Continent regularly in 1989 their grand,
drramatic music has trnslated very well to the live arena and the band
have already built up a large following in Holland and France. Their
successful tour of France last October also drew unanimous critical
acclaim from all the French media.

Tra la documentazione inviata dalla Third Mind c'e' un' intervista
di Emily Stefania Coscione in cui concludono:
" Certi gruppi usano la tecnologia piu' avanzata per produrre suoni,melodie.
Noi cerchiamo di evitare tutto questo, cosi' come cerchiamo di non usare
per quanto possibile il drum machine. Il nostro suono si basa su
facolta' emozionali che provengono quasi completamente da un uso classico delle
percussioni e di tutti gli altri strumenti. Oltre a cio, molte bands
ricercano tecnologicamente suoni finalizzati al disco, per raggiungere
grosse audience. Noi tentiamo di ricreare in studio la setssa atmosfera
che viviamo in concerto, nei teatri,a volte di fronte a poche decine di
persone. E' un fatto di intimita' e la tecnologia, se usata a questo
scopo, assume un volto completamente diverso".

Nella foto ufficiale due visi allungati in abiti alla marinara guardano
con occhio spento l'obbiettivo e la loro musica scorre .....scorre....
proprio come il tempo....
